Yes. It is part of the online process.
Q.
When you print from a pdf, why do the fonts not look the same?
A.
To distribute fonts outside your organization you must use font embed technology. Some Windows and Mac applications provide such capabilities.
Q.
Whos resposibility is it to endure the fonts printed are the same as what I want?
A.
If you are sending a pdf to the "Printing Online", or to another commercial printer, the responsibility is yours (not ours or theirs) to ensure that the document will print with the fonts you want. You can ask for a “proof” before printing the whole run.
Q.
How do I embed fonts in a pdf?
A.
This does not just happen by default, you have to choose it in the setup options within Adobe distiller. Often in distiller, the tickbox to "imbed all fonts" is set "unticked" and the user does not realise that the printer is not getting the "non-system" fonts.
If you are embedding fonts in other pdf-making products (non-adobe),
you will have to read that programme’s manual or help page on the internet
